Jamie Tworkowski is the founder of "To Write Love on Her Arms" (TWLOHA for short). A foundation set up to help teens and young adults who suffer from depression, addiction, anxiety, and thought of suicide. This story starts out with 19-year-old Renee Yohe, a girl from Florida battling addiction and self-harm. In getting to know Renee, Jamie struggled to find a treatment center for her, her friends became her only moral support. 3 years later, Renee had finished rehab, she published a collection of her journals titled Purpose for the Pain after her journals were read, her story was turned into film, with all the profits going to TWLOHA to help others in similar distress. The movie was called Renee and starred: Kat Dennings as Renee, Chad Michael Murray as Jamie Tworkowski. Corbin Bleu and Rupert Friend will also star.
Most of TWLOHA publicity and endorsements are through celebrities and bands including Dustin Kensrue from Thrice, Miley Cyrus, Joaquin Phoenix, Christina Perri, Skillet, Boys Like Girls, One Republic, the members of Paramore, Jon Foreman from Switchfoot, Sean Smith from The Blackout, Derek Sanders from Mayday Parade, Deon Rexroat from Anberlin, Evanescence, Bryce Avery from The Rocket Summer, Casey Calvert from Hawthorne Heights, Kevin Skaff from A Day To Remember, Sam Boyd of samspeaks.net and Brendon Urie and Ryan Ross from Panic at the Disco and has a growing loyal fan base. A Skylit Drive,Between the Trees who wrote two songs about Renee Yohe, "A Time For Yohe", as well as the song "The Way She Feels". The Rocket Summer, Fireflight, The Almost, Underoath, All Is Forgiven, Bayside, As We Collide, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Skillet with the song "The Last Night", Mat Kearney, and many more.
The organization has been invited to tour with several artists as a medium to convey their message. Some artists include Switchfoot, Anberlin, The Rocket Summer, Athlete, Blue October, My Bride, Oh, Sleeper, and more.
